a, Corrupted from the Sanskrit word Ik. One, only one; a certain one; each, each one, another; individual, single; either, one or the other; equal, like, similar; without an equal; firm, without change; exact, true, just:—ikk adhhá, a. Some, some few; hardly, or scarcely any:—ikk akkh nál wekhṉá, v. n. To look with the same eye, to consider equal:—ikk bhá, mull, ad. At the same rate or price:—ikk chatt ráj, s. m. A Government which extends over the whole country, a universal Government:—ikk chitt, a. Of one mind:—ikk dam wichch, ad. lit. In one breath; in an instant; at once:—ikk damm wichch wíh sunáuṉíáṇ, v. a. lit. To give back twenty (words) for one; to pour down a shower of abuse:—ikk ḍaul, a. Of the same sort, uniform:—ikk de pichchhe ikk, ad. One after the other; following the other, successively, continually:—ikk dúje dí madad, s. f. Co-operation with one another; mutual help:—ikk ḍhiḍḍh de, a. Of the same mother, own brothers or sisters:—ikk gall, s. f. lit. One by one, one after the other, consecutively, individually, each, singly:—ikk jáṉ, s. m. One soul, or heart; true or bosom friends:—ikk ját, s. f., a. One caste; of the same caste, or race, kind, or sort:—ikk jehe diṉ ná rahiṉe, v. n. Not to remain constant (days), applied to a change of condition, most commonly from bad to good, but sometimes the reverse:—ikk máṇpeu dá, a. Of the same parents, the whole blood:—ikk mikk hoṉá, v. n. To be reconciled, to be united:—ikk pal wichch, ikk gall wichch. In the twinkling of an eye, in a moment:—ikk raṇg, ikk raṇggá, a. Of one colour, similar, equal: ikk sár, a. See Iksáṇ:—ikk táṉ, s. f. Harmony, concord;—ikk táṇ, a. Firstly, in the first instance, on the one hand:—ikk tarah, katah, a. Equal, of the same fashion:—ikk tarfáḍigrí, s. f. One-sided degree:—ikk ṭhaur, s. f. One place, the same place:—ikk ṭikk láuṉí, v. n. To give a look:—ikk toṇ ikk wadh ke, a. lit. One more than the other; excelling, surpassing:—ikk wall, a. On or to one side, apart:—ikk wárí, wáríṇ, ad. Once, once upon a time:—sau kámáṇ ikk áhrí. One careful worker is equal to a hundred servants.
