a, ne:—nauṇ duár, duwár, s. m. The nine doors (of the body), i. e., the two eyes, ears, nostrils, mouth, private parts and anus:—nauṇ ghará, s. m. A house with nine rooms:—nauṇguṉá, a. Ninefold:—nauṇníddh, s. f. (lit. nine gifts.) The condition of one who has health, wealth, riches, honour, children, good fortune, prosperity:—nauṇ niddh te báráṇ siddh hoṉí, v. n. To be fulfilled (one's heart's desires):—nauṇ garahi, garahu, s. m. The nine planets of the horoscope. These are the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu (i. e., the ascending and descending nodes):—nauṇ khaṇḍ s. m. The nine divisions or protions of land which in the Hindu system make up the earth, of which eight are separated from each other by seven concentrical oceans while the ninth is subject to the rest:—nauṇratan, s. m. The name of an ornament on the arm or wrist, consisting of nine different gems; a bracelet consisting of nine jewels, the name of book on the deceits of women:—nauṇrátare, nauṇráte, s. m. lit. Nine fasts in honour of Deví.
