s. f, The stem of huqqá, a hukká tube; a reed (Arundo donax; A Karká, Nat. Ord. Gramineæ) which is common wild and frequently cultivated in the Panjab plains. The leaves are used for fodder, and the stems for hukkah tubes, chiks, baskets and hurdles:—hukká píṇdeṇ, teḍí náṛí kúṇ chhek hai, hukká nimánáṇ dard waṇdáṇ dí ṭek hai. You smoke a hukká, your hukká stem has a hole in it. The hukká is the support of poor people in pain.—Song.
