A period of fifteen days, half a lunar month; side, party, assistance, protection; partiality; a wing (in compo.); subject, a theme:—shukal or sukal pakkh, s. m. (lit. the white fortnight.) The fortnight of the waxing moon from the new moon to the full:—karishaṉ pakkh, s. m. (lit. the black or dark fortnight.) Fortnight of the waning moon from the full to the new moon.
