s. m, plant (Asparagus Punjabensis, Nat. Ord. Liliaceæ.) which has slender circular leaves, is common in parts of the plains of the Panjab east to the Sutlej, as well as in the Salt Range and on the Sutlej and it is frequent in Trans-Indus. In the Salt Range the twigs are used for scrubbing metallic vessels, and on the Sutlej a sprig of it is put in the hands of small pox patients. Its leaves are used medicinally.
